What started as offering to do some custom-made laser engravings for a family friend's wedding, turned into so much more. When making this, not only was it very challenging as I hadn't made something like this before; but it also held so much value and significance. Designed to be a surprise for the bride, the intricacy of the pictures and lettering made this project so enjoyable, because it also demonstrated the endless laser engraving opportunities for Rosecroft Creative.
Have you ever seen a Harry Potter themed wedding guestbook before? Probably not, so let me introduce you.
If you're unfamiliar with the Harry Potter films, the shape replacing the 'A' for 'Always' is The Deathly Hallows symbol. The line in the middle symbolises the world's most powerful wand: the Elder Wand, which gives the owner the ultimate power. The Resurrection Stone is the circle, as it gives the user the power to bring back the dead into the world of the living. And the triangle is the Cloak of Invisibility for the wearer of the cloak.
When used together according to legend, they make the user the Master of Death.
The stag and the deer was the couple's choice, as was the wording above 'After all this time?'
This 'Always' design was made as one of the many table centre pieces, alongside other custom made props, created by one of my stepchildren who is a professional prop maker.
The wedding was held at Blake Hall, Ongar, Essex in a barn, so with the colours used in my designs; it worked well with the backdrop.
